What we check, and what we do not
We check a company against a published list, and we say what we did not check. Each listing shows the date of its review. We never sum a review up in one word, a badge or a score, and we guarantee nothing.
The listing checklist
Before a listing is published, a person here works through these items. The listing shows the date of that review and each item's outcome, including the items that were not passed or not done.
Checklist startup-v1
1 Company identity
We compared the legal entity name and registration number the founder gave us against the entry in the public company register. That is a register page, read by a person. We did not visit the company, meet anyone, or look at anything the register does not hold.
Must pass before listing3 Revenue, traction and financial figures
We read the figures on the listing and checked them against each other: that monthly and annual revenue agree, that a growth rate matches the numbers it is drawn from, and that nothing contradicts the stage claimed. THIS IS NOT AN AUDIT. Every figure here is self-reported by the founder. We inspected no bank statement, no ledger, no accounting system and no invoice, and no figure on this listing has been independently confirmed by us or by anyone else.
Recorded with its outcome4 Documents in the data room
We opened each uploaded document and confirmed it is the kind of document its title claims and that it can be read. We did not verify anything written inside one, and we did not confirm that a signature, a counterparty or a figure in a document is genuine.
Recorded with its outcome5 Prohibited sectors and content
We read the listing against our prohibited list. This is a reading of what the listing says about itself. It is not an investigation into what the company actually does.
Must pass before listing6 Website and public presence
We opened the website and the linked public profiles and confirmed they exist and describe the same company as this listing. We did not check who owns the domain or when it was registered.
Recorded with its outcome7 Duplicate or impersonated listing
We searched our own listings for the same company name, website domain and registration number. This can only find a collision inside CapitalReach. A company being impersonated here for the first time will not be caught by it.
Must pass before listing8 A working route to a person
We confirmed that mail sent to the account address is delivered and answered. We have not spoken to anyone by telephone and we have not met anyone.
Recorded with its outcome9 Founder attestation on file
We checked that the founder has signed the attestation confirming this listing is true, complete and not misleading, and that their signature covers the wording currently in force. That is a statement the founder made, not a finding we made.

What we do not check
- We do not audit figures. Revenue, growth, customers and all other figures come from the founders.
- We do not check forecasts or market claims, and we do not assess whether a business plan is realistic.
- We do not assess whether a valuation or the terms are fair.
- We do not visit companies and do not interview customers, suppliers or employees.
- We collect no criminal-record data.
- We guarantee nothing, and nothing we record is a recommendation to invest.
Who answers for the information
- At review we check that the company is registered and that its listing is complete. We do not check its figures, valuation or claims, or what anyone says about themselves.
- An investor's track record, portfolio, cheque sizes and declarations, such as their investor status, are their own statements. We do not check them.
- The company provides this information and is responsible for it. CapitalReach gives no investment advice and no guarantee. Do your own checks before you invest.
